The Significance of Prayer

When we talk about prayer, it should never be in the context of something we do, but about someone we know. The most significant aspect of the Christian life is that, we can know God!

In Jeremiah 9:23, God exhorts us. "Let not a wise man glory (boast) in his wisdom, and let not the mighty man glory in his might, and let not the rich man glory in his riches; but let him who glories, glory in this, that he understands and knows Me, that I am the Lord."

His choice of the word "understand" is to remind us that by giving Him our attention and spending time with Him, we can gain insight and discernment into the ways of God. The word "know" is a precious reminder, that it is possible to have an intimate relationship with God that allows us to experience and discover His great love and purpose for our lives.

And just when we become convinced that we can pursue God until He is found, we find there is always more to know about Him. We come to the place he has been leading us all along. The place where we are convinced there are some things we will never know about God, and that's what makes Him God.

A holy dissatisfaction in my pursuit of KNOWING Him! Pray this class addresses that hunger in each of us - to KNOW HIM more! Pray that this class begins to feed that desire and each member leaves FULL! The first class we will address HIS glory and we being made in HIS image!

What an incredible gift to Know God! What a humbling experience to realize that I know so little! I am intrigued by my Sweet Lord, I love the pursuit and mystery and Oh how God loves to reveal Himself in ways that so surprise me. I'm excited to meet with you all again. Teach me Lord!!!

"Show me your ways, O Lord, teach me your paths; guide me in y our truth and tech me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long." -- Psalm 25:4-5

I love that the KJV concludes verse 5 with, "...On thee do I wait all the day."

May we know Him as we wait upon Him and Him alone!
